The red Charge indicator indicates normal charging. When
charging is complete, the indicator turns green.
How to charge the Ni-MH Battery (SNB-2312)
If the charge indicator illuminates as green when you insert the battery, your battery is
already charged to full capacity and cannot be charged any longer.
If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error.
- If the battery is not properly inserted
- If the 2 terminals (+, -) are dirty or damaged
If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the
nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.
The battery charger (SBC-N1) has a discharge function.
Ni-MH cells have a memory effect. For long battery life, it is best to fully charge or
discharge the battery. When batteries are charged in the battery charger (SBC-N1), the
charger first discharges residual capacity and then starts charging. If the Charge indicator
shows yellow when the battery is put in the charger, it means that the charger is
discharging the battery. In this case, the process may take from several minutes to about
two hours, depending on the residual capacity of the battery.
After the completion of discharge, the Charge indicator turns red and charging starts.
It may take about four hours to charge a battery, based on 2300mAh.
If the temperature of charger exceeds 65 C, charging is stopped and the lamp to check
charging flashes. In this case, charge the battery again after the temperature of charger is
dropped.
Notice
The charger (SBC-N1) is dedicated for Samsung Ni-MH cells only.
Charging Ni-Cadmium cells or low capacity Ni-MH cells may generate severe heat in the
battery. We recommend using Ni-MH cells with a capacity of over 2000mAh.
